The electric fleapit film club meets once a month to go to the cinema and talk about film. We meet at independent or heritage cinemas to support the smaller cinema industry and to keep heritage cinemas alive. We take it in turns to choose cinemas and films. We meet up before / after the film to discuss the brilliance or the bullshit. We (you) write reviews about the film for www.electricfleapit.com . You can comment and join the discussion if you can’t make the meet-up.
Meetup details are available only to members.
Unlike most other film meetup groups, the focus of this one is less on Hollywood / major film studio blockbusters and more on intelligent, thought-provoking, alternative cinema - i.e. contemporary and classic world cinema, arthouse, documentaries, independent ('low budget') and short films. Featured screenings (and post-film discussions) take place at a variety of cinemas/venues in and around London. If there is demand, there will also be the opportunity to attend other film-related events, such …
"Film is an old whore who knows how to give pleasure on many levels", Federico Fellini I started this group as, in common with lots of people, I love film and the cinema. As not everyone has a regular cinema partner, it seemed an idea to try and draw like-minded people together and create the West Surrey Cinema Meetup Group. While the watching of a movie can be a fairly solitary experience, the social aspects of the expectation and aftermath make it ideal for group activity I'll try to go the ex …
This is the group to join if you like to watch films in London. There is always a chance to socialise with the other members before/after the films, so it is also a great way to meet people. We go to see a wide variety of films, including both the new releases and classic films. There are events on weekdays evenings and also at weekends. We use various cinemas, usually in central London. Please contact Mark or Rakhee if you are interested in organising film events for this group. Note …
This group was started for all people who love the cinema and want to support a good local independent cinema. If you like cinema without popcorn, where the film starts at the advertised time, and like to have a drink and a chat with other cinema goers after the viewing, then this is the goup for you. The main night will be a Monday, since they only charge £5.00...but others dates can be scheduled if you wish to host one.....please feel free. We normally go for a curry afterwards, since we te …
Cinema, movies, film! Watch a great movie with friends, in a nice cinema with a good chat after. This group will help you to see more films, new cinema venues and meet fellow film lovers. Share your ideas of films to watch too, and where best to see them.
If you like to watch films but do not have people to watch it with or people who share your taste then you can join this group to find people who like to watch the films that you like and hang out for a bit before or after to talk about it. I have an unlimited pass at Enfield Cineworld, and I would obviously be setting up these meet ups at that location, but you can suggest other locations as well. Its a new group, so sooner we get to a few members, sooner we can schedule an event.
We're here to put black images in film back on the map. Tired of the same old maintream excuses such as “Black film has too limited an audience” or “there’s not enough depth in Black film”. BCC will try and serve up to the diverse people that we are, movies that tell stories that reflect us and our imaginations. BCC's aims are multifold 1. To provide consistent big screen outlets for new & classic black film/documentary 2. To provide a forum for film/documentary lovers wishing to have that shar …
Wouldn't it be cool if you could call up a few friends and watch something like "House Party" again...on a big screen? That's the plan to screen some new and classic films starring black actors that we might not get to see on the big screen. So how's it gonna work? First: This group is open to everyone who is a film lover, so join the group Second: Everyone in the group can suggest films. (CLICK HERE to vote on suggested films) Third: Reserve a place for upcoming events, turn up and enjoy the f …

Richmond is lucky enough to have 3 cinemas. The plan is to see films recommended by Mark, not necessarily film of the week. Optional refreshments before and after (not during, against the code of conduct). Hello to Jason Isaacs.
I start this group to share authentic Chinese films with people who enjoy watching movies, sharing your opinions and learning more about Chinese culture! I have also set up different channels below to share interesting news about Chinese culture, business, food and last but not least movies! Check it out and share it with your friends if you like it!
This is a group for all lovers of film who are into old and classic films in particular. Be it the silent greats, the westerns of the 40s, the comedy films of the 50s, the heist films of the 70s, there is room for everyone as long as its old, vintage, classic, cult, retro or just too cool for school. Please flag up any good movies being screened that you spot on the message board - if there's interest I'll try to organise it!

I have tried many book clubs, film clubs, and have yet to find the one that had a good balance between a really good discussion and a really good day/night out. So why not start one myself? Passionate about film and literature, and not one to pass up a good glass of wine or beer, this is a group for those who enjoy all of the above. Meetups to be held at various north of the river drinking establishments.

Group’s purpose is simple, meeting up to go to the cinema and a drink / dinner afterward!
The idea is simplicity itself - just getting together a few people interested in seeing plays and other theatrical performances, and independent / interesting films, in Islington and Hackney. For each outing there will be plans to have something to eat or drink beforehand or afterward - you're welcome but it's not compulsory! Key places will be: • theatres - the Almeida, the Arcola, the Red Lion, the King's Head, the Rosemary Branch, the Pleasance, the Hen and Chickens, the Courtyard • cinemas …

London Borough of Filmmakers (LBOF) is a collaborative project made up of people with a love for film and who are keen on getting involved in the creation of high standard short films with a professional approach. I'm sure you are aware that there are already a multitude of groups out there for filmmakers. This group is aimed at those who have considered a professional career in filmmaking but have had to put it onto the back burner in order to earn a living through other means. W …
Join to meet people and see movies! We vote on what film to see monthly, meet up for a showing and go for a drink to discuss! Simple as that! There are also smaller sub-meetups for less known and arthouse and indie films. We're not film snobs in this group- we see both thoughtful, foreign language films at indie cinemas and 'leave your brain at home' Hollywood blockbusters at multiplexes. Personally it depends on my mood. So if you like films, come along, watch a film and discuss it over a drink …

… . ----- o ------ Dear cinephiles, I hope this group will be an useful resource for those interested on Spanish language cinema, London offers many oportunities to indulge on this passion and has more options available than even Spanish speaking countries. I intend to conduct the dealings of the group in Spanish only, so if something is not clear please don't hesitate to email me direct (from the Meetup's email icon on my profile). Please review the Pages section for detailed information about th …
