We are a group of movie fans who like to watch foreign movies and independent films. We normally meet before or after the movie over a coffee or a meal to socialize and talk about movies. To help new members find the group, we try to: 1) meet at the same time (25 min before movie starts; 5-10 minutes later, we go in to get seats); 2) meet at an easy-to-find location; 3) sit at the same place (third or fourth center row from the back). Once a month, we gather together in a space in West Philly that can fit up to 50 people to watch a movie and talk about it. We generally focus on recent dvd releases of foreign, independent, and documentary films. After watching the film together, we have a discussion which usually lasts about 50 minutes. The intention of this group is to help indie filmmakers to organize screenings, to get more people for their screening and help them get some profit from tickets so they can keep making more movies.
