The show was cancelled 12 years ago... and we don't care! It lives on in our hearts, and in our bi-monthly public screenings. After 3 years, we are now the largest MST3K Meetup Group in the country! Join us, won't you? And we can all laugh at love.... AGAIN!
A group for fans of horror, cult & b-movies in the Portland area to get together and watch, heckle and talk about the best & worst in trash film. Horror and cult movies are more than just the lowest common denominator, they are proof positive that we can laugh at anything from transvestites eating dog shit to a good old fashioned disemboweling and as trash fans we revel in our lack of sophistication. Cinema cretins unite for the absolute best of the absolute worst. disclaimer: apparently ther …

Movies and Meaning began in October, 2007 to bring together people from various spiritual, religious, and philosophical perspectives. We share a common a love of meaningful movies and discussion. The original impetus for the group was a desire to explore the spiritual themes in contemporary films. Our goal is to foster dialogue between various faith traditions, and spiritual values that may not be religious. We welcome and enjoy deep reflections of spiritual insights whatever their source or …

The group mission: The goal of this group is to bring together any interested people in the Portland area who have worked in film or video, or otherwise have a special aptitude for these fields, in a fluid, creative workshop and discussion on given topics each month. The central idea is to get actors, writers and directors together to socialize and meet each other, and take in new information and offer creative feedback. We will focus on traditional as well as new media, from classical filmmakin …
I have written three full length feature scripts for film, and I am an avid movie watcher for entertainment and the construction of plot and character devices that make a script compelling. My goal for this group is to have other screenwriters join so we can read and critique each other's scripts and also go to movies together so we can watch and critique the films. Dissecting and critiquing films and discussing structure will only help our own scripts better. Discussing the marketing of scripts …

Let's get together for special movie/music nights at the Clinton Street Theater. Lots of great new things are happening at the Clinton, so let's be part of this historic neighborhood fixture as it moves into its 100th year. Live Music Mondays, KBOO @ the Clinton, REEL Eats, REEL Feminism, REEL Relics, Bad Movie Nite!, upcoming film festivals, classic rep programming, family matinees, indie filmmaking with director Q&A--there's something for everyone. We can grab a bite at one of the great restau …
Let's start going to film festivals together and support the indie film scene! Portland has a lot of great film festivals, so we started "Film Festival Fanatics" to get like-minded people together to regularly attend these events. We'll meet for different screenings and then hang out afterwards to eat, drink, socialize and discuss the movies.
This is a group that involves watching a movie and discussing said movie afterwards. What kind of movies do you ask? It can be any genre. My main criterion is that the film can carry a discussion. I might have themes for certain months like Overlooked Films, French Crime Films, Great Movies with Misleading Names or Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon theme with a certain actor or director. I’m going to be holding the group out of my house. I would prefer a theater but then I would be limited to what movi …
